Free chess set movie/model for C3DPS

Post by klowther »

This is my first attempt at creating models in C3DPS. It came out rather well, I think. I created it completely from scratch, so there are no worries about copyright infringment, etc. I'm making it available to anyone that wants it for whatever use they desire.

You can get it from my Yahoo briefcase at http://briefcase.yahoo.com/klowther.rm

Once there, click on the Cool3D folder. There should be 2 files named ChessSetMovie.wmv and ChessSetMovie.zip. The .wmv was created from the cool3d project contained in the .zip file, so you can view the wmv to determine if you are interested in downloading the zip file. Just right click on either file and select 'Save Target As' to download it.

Note: this project only works properly with Cool3D production studio. It will load in Cool3D 3.5 but will yield incorrect results.

Enjoy.

Thanks for sharing, Ken. However, I got a TCP_ERROR when I try to access the COOL 3D folder in the Yahoo Briefcase.

Sorry. Try this http://f2.pg.briefcase.yahoo.com/klowther.rm

Access to it sometimes fails here also. When it fails, I'm able to hit the back button on the browser and click on the Cool3d folder again. This usually works.

Ok, one more time. Please try the following link:

It seems the .rm portion of my yahoo id was causing problems.

Wow, Ken - I'm impressed! Great job.

Just out of curiousity, how long did it take to render that project? I've never tackled a project with that many objects.

Thanks Tom.

It took about an hour and 20 minutes to render a 720x480, field order a, 24-bit uncompressed version of the 8 second video. I then used that to create the .wmv file. It was rendered on a Dell Dimension 8300, 3 ghz Pentium 4, hyperthreaded with 2 gig of ram.

i have found that this is a slow product.

Have you tried to create as an animated GIF and import into VS8.

I found this was faster and image was just as good.

I used PAL settings for mine.
