When I first started using Ulead's 3D products I was also confused.
The current version is Cool 3D Production Studio 1.0
The 'previous' version is Cool 3D version 3.5
Notice the abscence of the words 'Production Studio' and so it appears that the dream factory decided a change of name and a restart of version numbers. It may have been less confusing to have called the latest one Cool 3D version 4.0
I suppose it's like when Microsoft replaced Windows 98 with Windows ME
and at the same time they replaced
Windows NT with Windows 2000.
To many people, myself included, I would have thought it more logical to have named the successor to 98 as 2000 and the successor to NT as ME
but then again, thats probably why I only live in a small 3 bedroomed house and not some stateley country manor.

Sorry, Steve J. you are wrong.
Ulead's entry-level 3D program has always been COOL3D. Next version by progression would be COOL3D 4.0. Their targeted version for advanced users was COOL3D Studio which was later changed to Production Studio. If there ever was a new version of COOL3D Production Studio it would be 1.5 or 2.0 or named something completely different altogether.
