Mac Pro and MSP

Post by troppo »

Has anyone run MSP 8.0 in windows on a Mac Pro? And if so, were there any issues with hardware or was it all good?
I'm interested in buying one of these beauties, with the added advantage of having a dual boot dual OS system so I can use FCP as well.

I was interested in that as well...
one thing to note is that Boot Camp and the 3rd party Parallels Desktop software (virtual windows product like VMWare), have pretty fixed hardware drivers; I'm not 100% sure it even includes Firewire? Need that, for capturing!

Interesting topic.
About firewire, and being this one an Apple's "product" it would be rather strange if it was not supported, besides the new trend tward USB2 to handle Mpeg2 camera capable files it is not indicated to traditional miniDV avi files.

Runs fine for me, 16 gig mem, terrabyte HD (dual 500 drives) dual boot. The stock nVidia 7300, etc. I have the 2.66 quad, but, may grab the newer 3.0's, but from what I hear, isn't that much improvement, but, there is some.. I use this system exclusivly for HD editing and use Final Cut Pro.., (used with Sony HDX1 camera) ...

MSP 8 loaded and runs fine, and, have not had a single problem with this camera and hardware using MSP 8 on the Mac.

Was in my profile, but, some moderator here got upset I was using a mac..

I do most of my work in windoze/MSP 8 and VS10+ anyways, so no biggie.. (my profile below is my PC machine, the mac not listed)
