DL Disc, containing loads of clips successfully edited and burnt using VS10: now I need to put one of those clips elseplace.
Easy solution, unzip the backup and take it from there: problem - gives error unzipping.
Other solution, import clip from DVD using VS10 and make new file: problem - gives error importing.
Another solution, open DVD using Explorer and copy VOB and hope to figure out what to do with the VOB later: problem - gives error copying.
Playback of the DVD in a standalone player shows a couple of seconds of hangup during an altered-playback-speed section at approximately the corresponding point (though other altered-playback-speeds sections play fine): otherwise the clip (and disc) play fine.
Can anyone suggest how I might recover this clip from the DVD in order to put it somewhere else?

I can't help with the recovery but for future reference make sure you are using good quality DVD blanks for your masters and archives.
Refer to http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm for further information regarding what is good and bad quality DVD blanks.
