Restoring view in Photo Explorer 8.5

I've often found when I'm using Photo Explorer 8.5 what I must have done something wrong because the layout changes completely & I have a big problem getting things back the way they were. I know I've done something wrong but can't determine what. I normally have the thumbnails displayed on the right hand side & on the left the normal folder tree that you would see if you went into Windows explorer. This is the way I like it but how do I get it back?

In the "View" dropdown, you'll see the different options available.

Use the "Thumbnail/list" mode to alternate between thumbnail images and a listing of the images
