DVD Moviefactory -HELP-Is this what I want?

Post by CFELIX52 »

I need help, I have already wasted money on programs thinking I was getting what I wanted.

I have burned an old movie VHS onto DVD by way of a stand alone burner. I do not like the plain jane chapter settings and background on the burner, SO I want a program that will let me import a picture, change font headings...basically allow me to make the start screen for the move and the buttons etc. Is this the right one?

I do have the trial loaded in and have messed with it a bit, but is there a way to save the DVD to the harddrive? Do I have to use a specific DVD? I have DVD+R's.

Gosh, any help you can give would be great.. I feel like an idot buying the wrong programs and I don't want to get it wrong again.

What do you want us to tell you? All we know is that you want to capture VHS movies and make a DVD menu. DVD MF can certainly do that.

No, you don't need specific DVD's for MF, your burner is the one that may limit you to certain media.

Search the tutorial section on this board. I'm sure you will find plenty of instructions which will stop you from 'messing' with the program. If you mess with anything, it's usually a mess you get

but is there a way to save the DVD to the harddrive?
When youy get the the Burn screen, check the box that says Create DVD Folders. That will create the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders on your hard drive. (You can un-check the Create Disc box if you don't want to burn a disc at the same time.

The +R and -R situation isn't much of a problem with burners. Your burner's documentation will tell you what it can burn. Most can burn anything, although there are still drives being sold that can't burn dual-layer DVDs.

However, there are DVD players that can't play some variations. Some players can't play "burned" DVDs at all! If you are giving away (or selling) DVDs, and you don't know about the player that will be used, your best odds are with DVD-R.
