Pictureshow keeps shutting down

When opening an existing Slideshow or organizing a new one with photos from a My Pictures folder the program often shuts down with the message:
DVDPS.exe Application Error
The instruction at "0x096f1464" referenced memory at "0x097a207c". The memory could not be "read".
Does anyone know what this means and how to fix it?

I think I got that same message a couple times, too. From what I've read, the program kinda has a problem with that, and other users suggest saving your work ALOT
