Cannot jump to next title...

Hi,

I have a new tricky problem. I have 4 video files. Each one has about several chapters. Now I wanted to create a button called "PLAY" so if you click that button the DVD should show:

-> Title 1, chapter 1, 2, 3, 4
-> Title 2, chapter 1, 2, 3
-> Titel 3, chapter 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
...and so on

But when the DVD comes at the end to chapter 4 of title 1 it jumps back to title 1 chapter 1 although my playlist of the button is configurated right.

Is Workshop not able to jump from one title to the next one automatically???

It should be able to jump properly if your playlist is setup correctly. Can you list the items in your playlist

Play Part A -Chapter 1
Play Part A -Chapter 2
Play Part A -Chapter 3
Play Part A -Chapter 4
Play Part B -Chapter 1
Play Part B -Chapter 2

Play Part C -Chapter 2
Play Part C -Chapter 3
Play Part C -Chapter 4
Play Part C -Chapter 5

MainMenu = The menu which should appear after the last title but even in the preview before burning it does not work...
I am confused, for me it looks like everything is right, or?

Your Playlist should look like this:

Play Part A -Chapter 1
Play Part B -Chapter 1
Play Part C -Chapter 1
Play Part D -Chapter 1
MainMenu


It's important to understand that when you add a Chapter to your playlist, it will jump to that chapter, and continue playing until THE END of that Title.

Here is a Cut/Paste from a response I sent to another user on a different usergroup:

For example:

TITLE-1 (10-minute video clip)
-T1-Chapter- 1 (start of Title-1)
-T1-Chapter- 2 (3-minute mark of Title-1)
-T1-Chapter- 3 (7-minute mark of Title-1)

TITLE-2 (20-minute video clip)
-T2-Chapter- 1 (start of Title-2)
-T2-Chapter- 2 (8-minute mark of Title-2)
-T2-Chapter- 3 (15-minute mark of Title-2)

In DVDWS 2.x, if you add a CHAPTER to your playlist,
it will play from that mark until the end of that
TITLE. Here are some examples:

============ ========= ========= ========= ========= ====
PLAYLIST-1:
-T1-Chapter- 2
-MENU

This will play T1-Chapter-2, T1-Chapter-3, Menu

============ ========= ========= ========= ========= ====

PLAYLIST-2:
-T2-Chapter- 1
-T2-Chapter- 3
-Menu

This will play T2-Chapter-1, T2-Chapter-2, T2-Chapter-3 (these cover the FIRST item in your playlist)
Then it plays T2-Chapter-3 again (next item in your playlist), then Menu
============ ========= ========= ========= ========= ===

PLAYLIST-3:
-T2-Chapter- 2
-T1-Chapter- 2
-Menu

This will play T2-Chapter-2, T2-Chapter-3, T1-Chapter-2, T1-Chapter-3, Menu

============ ========= ========= ========= ========= ===

The key to remember is that "Chapter" marks are
jump-to points, and playback continues from that point
until the END of that TITLE.

I hope that helps explain how the Playlist works in DVDWS 2.x

Wow this sounds very simple and logical. I will try it out tomorrow and give a response if it worked or not.

Forgot to mention, an alternative is to use the "Play All Titles" icon above the playlist area (2nd icon from the right). You can use that if you want to play all the titles in your project. Or you can specify each Title like I did in my previous post.

Hi,

I tried out whatu wrote and in the preview everything was ok. But at the finished DVD the same problem appeared. I tried to play the DVD everywhere but always the same problem that I can't jump to next title. My playlist:

Title 1 -Chapter 1
Title 2 -Chapter 1
Title 3 -Chapter 1
Title 4 -Chapter 1
Menu

I don't know what to do any more... I hope you can find a solution because I need the DVD to be finished UNTIL SATURDAY!!!!

Now that you have your playlist setup properly, add an extra chapter at the VERY END of each of your Titles. When you hit NEXT, it will jump to that "dummy chapter", and then continue playing until the end of that Title, then move on to the next item in your playlist.

Don't change anything in your playlist, just add the new chapter marks about a half-second before the end of each Title.

Dear moderator, I have the same problem as a Mr PowerTower. Unfortunately I am not able to solve this. Probably that depends on my poor knowledge of the English one. Or I am dull. Could you kindly be more detailed? What is my problem? Referring me to the forum example,
Play Part A -Chapter 1
Play Part A -Chapter 2
Play Part A -Chapter 3
Play Part A -Chapter 4
Play Part B -Chapter 1
Play Part B -Chapter 2
Play Part B -Chapter 3
I wish to do what follows:
1- Begin the reproduction from Part A-Chapter 4
2- At the end of Chapter 4, the reproduction must automatically continue with Part B-Chapter 1.
3- The reproduction must continue up to the end of DVD.
