If you are using VS10, then in almost the dead centre of the Edit screen, and just a little to the right, you will see two curved arrows pointing in opposite directions, with 90 to the left and right. This will move your video around by 90 degree increments, either clockwise or counter-clockwise. Click on one of them twice and your video should be up the right way!
I already tried this trick but it does not work. The image is flipped vertically and not vertically.
But when selecting the file in the first menu the preview is ok !
An on top on tyhis is it normal that it takes 9 hours to turn a 500 Mo Avi file into a DVD ?
Can you right click on your .avi file in the timeline, copy down the properties, and post them here.
I have no idea how your video got reversed. But now that you mention an abnormally long conversion process, it is clear that there may be something else the matter as well.
As you may know, .avi is only a carrier format. Various other types of video files use .avi as the extension, though in reality they can be mpeg-4 such as DivX or XVid. True or uncompressed .avi is huge -- around 65GB per hour of video. There is also DV/AVI which is compressed but is used for transferring your video from a mini-DV digital video camera.
Apart from the properties, can you tell us where you got the original .avi video from?
If it is in fact DivX or XVid, it is often better to first convert it to DVD-compatible mpeg-2 by using another program. The freeware program SUPER will do it for you.
