Odd encoding bug

Post by Paridoth »

I use videostudio to encode music videos, which entails taking mutliple video clips and puting them to a single mp3 file. my problem is the video seems to play fine when i preview it (on highquality) but when i go to encode it i get an odd hikup in the sound when i play it and the video and audio become out of sync. any sugestions as for the reason?

EDIT: i have been poking around in the forums and noticed some metnion of an MPG audio bug? i am making the video clips from two MPEG2 files. am i being affected by this bug? if so is there a fix?

EDIT: i thought i would throw in some more info while im still here. my scource for the video are two MPG2 files i got by ripping them form a dvd, niether of them have audio tracks, and both of them were .AVI until i converted them to MPG2 files with videostudio (easyer to preview the scource material) i then take clips out and stick them on the timeline with my mp3 file . when i encode it i encode it into a divx AVI file.

EDIT: i encoded the file to MPEG2 and i didnt get the glitch, however the finished project needs to be in divx format becasue mpeg wil be simply to large when i upload it to an ftp server. so im going o try to convert the mpeg after i encode it back to divx avi and see if i get the glitch, in which case it might be my mp3 codec or my divx codec rather then ulead itself.

EDIT: yup that seemed to do it, when i make the first output an mpeg, then make that mpeg an avi rather then go strait to avi that seems to solve the problem, im not sure if this is just me or if this is an actualy glitch but iether way if anyone experiences this same problem they can go ahead and try that =)

For outputing DivX video, make sure you have DivX v5.1.1 or later. You can download the latest DivX CODEC from http://www.divx.com (I think the latest version is v5.2.1??) and see if it fixes. If it does not, you can ask Ulead Tech Support for DivX v5.1.1.

Hope this helps.
