No audio when running preview

Post by secookie »

Hi All

Sorry to be a pain, I'm sure this has probably come up before somewhere, although the search couldn't seem to find it.

I've installed vista and am using VS10, but cannot yet download the vista patch. Am creating a project, but when I click on play to preview it, the vids / pics and titles, transitions etc play but the sound doesn't. Is this a problem with compatibility with vista which the patch will fix or is there a setting wrong on my Videostudio?

Many thanks in advance for everyone's help and once again sorry to be a pain!!

Is the reason for not being able to d/l the patch due to the slowness of the website? I'm not familiar with Vista, but I would think that installing the patch should help.

However if you are running a TBYB version then the audio problem may be due to the Dolby thing...no money no sound. Dolby is fee based, so most applications that are trials do not include Dolby..

Many thanks for the thoughts.

I can't download the Vista Patch as it only downloads a 17kb file, not the full download (I don't know why).

I've owned Videostudio 10 since April 2006 and the audio worked fine in Windows XP. When you make the video file, the sound works fine as well, it just doesn't play when you preview the project. You can click on the audio file on the timeline and it does play fine. I just don't know what's wrong.

Tearing my hair out at the moment as it's a pain in the bum trying to mix audio with the pics and not knowing whereabout's the audio is in relation !!
