DivX

OK, I have two files

AVI1
Vidoo
DivX Decoder Filter
Audio
MPEG Layer-3

AVI2
Video
LEAD MCMP/MJPEG Decoder
Audio
PCM

Why does when I copy AVI1 file straight to my DVD and put into my DVD player it works......same size, just like file copy....

But, when I do the same to AVI2, it does not work.....
I know Video is not in DivX format.

Now, how do I convert my avi2 to avi1 format so that i can just copy and it will work in my dvd player.

I know if I convert to DVD video, both will work.....but, I want to keep it to avi format.....

Any tips, hints....

Also , in DVDMF 4, there was the option for DivX, you could see it in Create DVD options, but in DVD5 - its not there.....

I'm licensed user of DMF since version 3.5

Neither of these files is DVD compliant. Some DVD players can play some non-standard formats.

Standard DVDs are MPEG-2 (or MPEG-1*) with specified resolution, framerates and bitrates. The standard also limits the audio formats.

If you chose Create DVD, Movie Factory should convert your files as necessary to make a compliant DVD. (If it is able to perform the conversion.)

* I've never actually seen an MPEG-1 DVD, but it is allowed.

I'm talking about DVD
I'm talking about DivX format

How do you convert using DMF 5 to standard DivX format to any AVI files

That option was there in 4.5 but, its no more there in 5

uregmi, as I understand it, you want to convert your 'AVI2' video file to DivX format, so you can play it on your DVD player which has the ability to play DVD movies in DivX format?

If that's the case, you want a DivX convertor, and, you're right, MF5 is not that (I've never used MF4, so I can't confirm that it was able to produce DVD movies in DivX format).

I suggest you start with having a look at the DivX for Windows download on the official DivX site.

Like I said, when the file is in this format
AVI1
Vidoo
DivX Decoder Filter
Audio
MPEG Layer-3

I can use DMF 5 to copy that file to DVD and play that in my DVD player.
But, when it is in this format

AVI2
Video
LEAD MCMP/MJPEG Decoder
Audio
PCM

and copy that file to DVD , I cannot play that.....

So, I belive, DmF 5 should be able to convert those files
