Spliting One Project into Two

Post by Gra »

Hi everyone

I've captured a whole bunch of video into one project, but I want to split them into two or three separate projects. Is it a case of just saving under a different name and deleting the bits which aren't relevant to the project concerned or is there a way of separting the projects in the control panel or somewhere? I thought I had seen a similar question but I just can't seem to find it in the search (apologises if it repeats advice given before).

Also, on my timeline, I see only the first image of a clip, which is followed by the clip's name on a blue background until the next clip. Is there a way of seeing all the images on the timeline? I can't seem to find a setting control that would alter this (I'm sure I used to be able to see all the images when I ran VS5).

Best regards all.

You're exactly right. Open the original project and delete the unwanted scenes and save as a new project. Do this for each new project you want. As for the clip's image it can be done but I don't remember how and I don't have VS8 in front of me. I'm sure somebody else will help you on that one before I get home. :D

Thanks everyone (and for pointing me in the direction for showing all my clips).

Have a good weekend.
