Photoimpact all grey screen, no tool bars or anything.

Post by mcse123 »

Hi everyone.
I have PI 11 and it crashed and now when I open it there's nothing but a blank screen with no tool bars or anything. This has happened before and I've reinstalled it which fixes the problem but it's happened 3 times now and I'm tired of reinstalling it.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Try doing a search on your hard drive for Current.xum and delete it . This forces the workspace to be rebuilt on the next opening of the program.

I have been having to do this repeatedly - getting verrrry frustrated. Re-installing upwards of 10 times a week is NOT a fix that's for sure! :(

I don't know what more to do - go back to XL??

Better to delete the file "current.xum" or upgrade to PI 12.

PI 11 has been a troublesome version but so has PI XL for some. Incidentally, you can run all PI versions side by side on the same PC, as long as these are not the PRO versions by NOVA. NOVA are marketing their modified PhotoImpact versions, based on the ULEAD code, to the US market as PI PRO. These versions do not allow for other versions to be installed simultaneously.
