Hi, I'm pretty new to VideoStudio so please forgive me if this is a novice question.
I have created a title slide (basically a Title Track that overlaps the Video Track). I want to add the Dissolve "Effect" to the beginning and the end of the Title track; not the Video track.
However, when I try to drag the effect over the Title track, it does not work. It only seems to work for the video track.
Can someone please advise me how this can be done? Thanks in advance!
(On the side: can someone also let me know whether there is a way to add a secondary Video, Overlay, or Title track?)
Title Effects (E.g. Cross-fading a title slide)

Welcome to the Forums Hador,
First it is not possible to use the video filters for titles, as they have their own effects. With the title activated in the title track, click on the animation tab. Then tick the Apply Animation check box. Now several presets will be available to choose from. Many of those can be further customized.
To apply a cross-fade to a title:
Following the above, click on the pull-down preset menu and select Fade. There are eight preset fades to choose from. This is the part that is hidden, the "TT" to the right, it is a button, click on it, and you will be presented with the choices of Fade-In, Fade-out or Cross-Fade.
If there is a specific effect you are wanting, you could create your text in a text, or word processing, or imaging program, and save it as an image with a transparent background. Then bring that into VS as an image, which will allow you to apply a video filter to it.
Transitions are effects that are only allowed between image or video clips.
To add a second video or overlay track depends on which version your are using. In VS9 and earlier, they only allow for 1 overlay track, and it should already be visible. In VS10 plus it is somewhat hidden, but mousing over the buttons(icons) above the timeline will reveal which one it is. The icon is of 2-film reels and a check-mark. The tool tip states Overlay Track Manager. Clicking it opens a dialog window, where you place a check-mark beside the number of tracks you want.
You are only allowed 1 title track, and then the 2 audio. Now here are some great resources to help you along....

will take you to a short tutorial, explaining how to find and complete that information. This way it will always be available, and will save you from retyping it in the future.

Unfortunately you haven't told us which version of VideoStudio you are using - so I will assume version 10.
To apply effects to the titles you do not use the 'Effects' from the video options - instead you use 'Animations' to apply fade/movement to your text.
Click on the title block in the title track and then look at the information panel just above the right hand end of the timeline - you will see that it has two tabs - the default one that is open is "Edit" - the other tab is "Animation" - click on that - then click to tick the box next to "Apply Animation" now use the little drop down to select the type of animation - the strange goings on in the bigger box are preset animations that you can choose - clicking on the 'Double T' icon next to the drop down will allow you to customise the animation to your choice.
If you want more than one lot of text onscreen at the same time then when you create your titles make sure you click "Multiple Titles" in the title information panel under the "Edit" tab - then you can create multi[ple text blocks in the one title.
If you do NOT have version 10plus (10+) then you can only have one video and one overlay track - if you do have 10+ plus then you can have the base video track plus six overlay tracks - these can be seen by using the 'Overlay track Manager' which can be accessed by clicking on the second from right icon (two film reels and a tick) in the row of icons just above the timeline.
