CROP?

Post by aiki88 »

I shot some DV against a white background, but in the rushed aftermath some of the canvas clips showed up in the right hand corner of the shots. Can I crop these and if so how should I go about it? This is standard 720X480 Video.
Help appreciated.

Drag the crop filter onto the clip and adjust the crop area as required.

Before going to that bother, if your final output is to a TV, check whether you can actually see the clips on the TV. I wouldn't mind betting you cannot, as they are probably in the overscan area.

Another thought. You might want to overlay a same color as background clip over the area in question. If you have a soft edge to the overlay you can prolly mask out the offensive area in question and not have to crop or resize the frame at all.

well this post goes back a bit but I have used bothe the techniques offered here. they work great.

When I crop to remove undesirable stuff I try to match the color of the background in the crop area. This allows the overlay to remove all the BG
