DID YOU KNOW . . . ?

Post by cosmo777 »

Hello all,
Further to my thread on horrendous rendering times, I would like to share some info with you guys. For those of you who use Cool 3d especially for the particle-effects, like rain, snow, lightning, bubbles etc, there is an alternative.
I use a program called Particle Illusion ( from Wondertouch.com ).
It has millions of effects, it's easy.
Previews are INSTANT ( your project plays in real time )
As an example, a 200 frame project in Cool 3d can take me 2, 3, or more hours , to render.
In particle Illusion, the SAME PROJECT length, and even with MORE
lightning, explosions, fog, bubbles, snow, water, text, moving lines, etc etc,
takes about 57 SECONDS TO RENDER !! Helluva difference !!
I am not an employee, stock-holder, or have any vested-interests in
Particle Illusion. I just use it because of its millions of effects and lightning-fast render times.
There are heaps of tutorials for Particle Illusion at CREATIVE COW forums.
Just thought I'd share an ALTERNATIVE in life.
Best regards from Cosmo

On my old Pentium M 1.73G system C3DPS renders the particle effect properly.

Each product has its pros and cons. Particle Illusion only focus on Particle effects, and I think you can use it with COOL 3D. However, this thread will be considered as an advertisement for Particle Illusion. Sorry I will lock this thread.

I too, find COOL3D PS particles work properly but as we know it does a whole lot more than just particles as opposed to devoted particle generator software. The poster could have phrased it this way, for more particle effects other than the ones offered by COOL3D PS, one can use Wondertouch's Particle Illusion to enhance any COOL3D project. I do, I use PI this way. That's not a violation of product placement on this web board. This would be the same as mentioning Adobe After Effects can be used for post production on already edited Ulead projects which many users do, I do. As for rendering speed, this has always been an issue. COOL3D PS renders slower than COOL3D 3.5. The poster is obviously upset about his COOL3D rendering times issue and felt the need to boast about the speed of another product in comparison. Wrong, yes but there is also some truth when it comes to rendering times. I honor your decision in locking this thread to stop unwanted rants.
