Straight to the Disc
I have DVD MovieFactory 4 SE. I tried to copy a 2 hour vhs tape to straight to the disc and I get this message "the recording process is stopped due to low disc space" I have 60g of hard drive space free. The video and sound are great. I have a KWorld capture card that appears to be working correctly. I have a DVD dics in the burner. I changed the format from DVD-HQ to DVD-LP to see if that made any difference. But still the same message appears. I am new at this stuff any suggestions?
IMHO - Direct to Disc is asking alot from a PC. Analog capture is tricky enough without trying to burn at the same time.
I'm sure that it works for some users and with some capture hardware, but I havent tried it myself.
(If you haven't tried capturing to your hard drive yet, I recommend that you get that working before attempt direct to disc.)
A stand-alone DVD recorder can do it, but all of the hardware is specifically built to work together, it's got hardware MPEG encoder & decoder, the software (firmware) is written for the specific hardware, and there is no multitasking operating system doing stuff in the background.

No I am not getting any video written to dvd or harddisk. The program will not let me go any further than the messagemaddrummer3301 wrote:Are you getting any video written to the dvd or is the program first recording the video on the harddisk and then transferring to the dvd writer.
There's a few ways it can work and the direct to disk actually works quite well if you have a good capture card.
Are you using a DVD-RW Disk, DVD+RW Disk or another type?
In fact I thought it would let me record it to the harddisk first, but I can't capture the video until I put a DVD disk into the DVD writer, then it will let me click on the highlighted camera in the lower left corner of the program. I am using a DVD+RW. I notice a folder that is named Ulead DVD Moviefactory 4.0 SE was created in my documents folder. I thought this would capture the VHS tape first and I could burn a dvd from the folder. This is the first time working with this type of program. The recording process is stopped due to low disc space.

My TV card is a Hauppauge but the procedure ought to be similar.
Create a DVD from a Hauppauge TV Card
