No audio on saved file

Summary:

Successful HD capture. Audio present on edit in VS10+ but not audible on either the saved or batch converted video file. The audio properties appear on the saved file. Per the capture, MPEG-2 layer 2, 48Khz, 16 bit, 384kbs. So, despite having done this successfully on an earlier project, there is no audio on the saved file AFTER editing. The saved file after CAPTURING is fine. The audio is present on the timeline after editing.
