Installing VS10 on Vista

Post by JasonJoel »

Ok, am going to do a clean install on vista.

My question is, after I install the original VS10 program frm the CD do I then install BOTH SP1 and the Vista Update? Or just the Vista Update?

If both, does order matter?

I talked with tech support today with the same question and they said install VS10 then the Vista Update but not SP1. He said the Vista Update includes the fixes from SP1. I would like to confirm this but I did what he said and seems good for me. Is there something I should check to confirm the version number is correct?

To answer whether to install SP1 or not, look at what the service pack addresses or fixes. Do you need to install it? In other words, if it isn't broke don't fix it.

Install the SP1 for UVS10 Plus, it'll have the new function (HDV Recording). So if you want to have this new feature, you have to install Vista Patch first, then install the SP1.
Vista Patch doesn't includ "HDV Recording" function.
