Edit points are wrong with HD video

Post by Joe Linn »

I bought MSP and the HD plug in to use with my JVC GR-HD1 camera. When I select clips that are 15 or 20 minutes into a capture, the edit points are not reliable. If I trim the clip in the preview window then put it on the timeline, the location of the trim on the timeline is several seconds off from where I trimmed it in the preview window. If I preview the transition at the point, I see yet another location. When I render the clip, it ends up with still a different edit point. No matter whether I trim with the scissors on the timeline or trim with in the preview window, the location is still off by several seconds when I render the clip.

Does anybody know what is going on and how I can have my cuts end up where I want them?

Thanks!

Thanks. I should have specified that. I do have MSP SP 2 installed. Is there anything else I might try?

Thanks again for responding.

How do you contact them?? Via phone or e-mail??

I think you will get faster response if you phone them.

If you use e-mail to contact Ulead Tech Support, make sure you have added the virtual Ulead Tech Support account (ts_reply@ulead.com.tw) to the safe sender list in your e-mail program and make sure your ISP do not recognize the tech support account as a spam sender. This is because some e-mail program and ISP had recognized the virtual tech support account as spam sender so you might never recieve the e-mail from Ulead. Ulead usually will response to you with an auto-response mail in about 3 days. If you did not recieve the auto-response mail more than a week, you might need to phone Ulead or use another e-mail account to contact Ulead.

Hope this helps.

I've been using email. This is actually the second problem for which I have contacted them. The first concerned audio gaps in rendered HD output. I got an initial response where they asked me to reinstall. I reinstalled and the problem persisted. I emailed them with results and never heard back. Two weeks later I got an automatic response saying that if I was still having a problem I should open a new issue. By then I had experienced this second problem so I opened a new issue last weekend. I haven't heard anything on the second issue.

I'll try the phone support.

Thanks again for your help!
