Error message [534:-2147216291:0] when burning a DVD

Post by netkell »

I am hoping someone can help with a recurring problem I am havng. I recently upgraded to VideoStudio10+ after having similiar problems with UVS 8 SE.

I am in the process of converting my VHS anaolog videos via a Plexor ConverteX PX-M402U.

I am using an emachines t6410 and I believe it meets all the system requirements listed for my product.

After successfully converting over 20 hours of tape to DVD, the system started bogging down and failing. That is when I upgraded to UVS 10+, but the probelm persisted.

When I attempt to create a disk, the system takes over 1.5 hours to go through the rendering process before it gives me the error code [534:-2147216291:0] at the burn to disk stage.

I can successfully make the conversion about 1 out of every 4 attempts.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled and downloaded all updates to no avail.

Needless to say, I am very frustrated by the entire experience, but desparate to complete the project of converting my aging VHS tapes of my daughters early years.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Bruce

The Plextor, with its inbuilt chip, is supposed to let you capture DVD-compliant mpeg-2. If it is compliant, and the properties are maintained throughout the project, there should not be any reconversion during the burning phase.

I suspect though, that what you are doing is editing your captured files, then going straight to the burning module. What you should try instead is finish your editing then go to Share > Create Video File > DVD, making sure the properties are the same as those in the project. Then when you have produced the new DVD-compliant mpeg-2 with all your editing, you close the project, and with a clean timeline, go to the burning module, create your menu and burn.

What are the properties of your capture files? And are the project properties any different?
