LPCM or MPEG-Audio??

Post by PowerTooler »

Hi,

there is something which I don't know. On DVD Workshop I have 2 options for audio-convertion: MPEG-Audio [384kbps] & LPCM. I only know MPEG-Audio is useing less space than LPCM but does anybody know the exactly difference? Which one would you choose by WMV clips?

Thx anybody...

Which version of DVD Workshop are you using -- 1.x, 2.x, Full, SE, Trial, Express, etc... :?:

Stereo LPCM=1,536kbps vs. mpeg audio up to 384kbps (so that is why lpcm is taking more space)

mpeg audio is ok for Pal DVD's, it is only an "optional" format for NTSC DVD's -- so some NTSC DVD players might not be able to play mpeg audio.

Since your source is wmv, I would say mpeg audio should be ok (but keep in mind about NTSC and mpeg audio).

My first choice would be Dolby Digital Audio (AC3) -- but your version does not offer that as an option...
