Capturing from a Panasonic DVD Camcorder

Post by NickAlElla »

I am trying to capture video footage from my Panasonic 150 DVD camcorder. The software picks up the camcorder through - Import DVD Disk, but not through - Capture from Video Device. When I try and Import DVD Disk from F: drive, which is the camcorder, it comes up with and error message.
Can anyone help? :D [/b]

Try placing the DVD disc in your computers DVD drive and importing.

Also your computer DVD drive is probably much quckier than importing through the USB2 cable. I have the Hitachi version of your camera and importing on the computer DVD drive is the only way to go.

It could be your UDF Driver has not been installed or over written. Try reinstalling it.

Even if you could capture it is a slower workflow process than importing. At first it seems like we are missing out on something by not being able to capture. However importing is, for us, the fastest, highest quality, least cumbesome way to get to our digital video data. Look at my threads in regards to simular topics -

Read about DVD Mini discs and DMF5 in the following thread:

Read about importing to a specific folder in the following thread:

I hope these help

Thanks for that, I haven't had time to try this yet, as I work shifts and have a 7mth baby, but if I have any more problems I will post another note.
Thanks again, and for getting back so quick. Cheers.
