Gradient fill start and end colours incorrect

Post by sisom »

Hi, I've been trying to create a button using PI's gradient fills, but the problem I have is that the top and bottom colours of the button are not the same as the ones I chose in the gradient fill box.
For example, if I choose
255 100 100
for the top colour, when I check it with the eyedropper, the actual colour of the top pixel row is 238 100 100, and I can't get the full red colour that I want.
I have tried this with both image objects and path objects, and I still have this problem. No matter what colour values I enter, the actual ones on the screen are never the same, which means it's proving impossible to get the precise colours I want.
Can anybody help?

Hi, it's version 12. Sorry I didn't make that clear in the original post!
It's a very frustrating problem as I am having to manually paint the button I have created, pixel by pixel, to match the colours I actually want.

If you try experimenting you'll see what I mean: draw a standard box and then apply a gradient fill, make a note of your start and end colours, then use the eyedropper to check what the actualy start and end colours are, they won't be the same as the ones you chose. The colours it actually uses never stretch across the entire range that you choose.

If you have any ideas on how to fix this I'd be very grateful as it's taken me an hour to redo the button and I want to add some other things to it, but can't until I've got this gradient fill working properly.
