Hopefully the new version will not crash as often. Why is the UK version of DVDMF4 Disk Creator 29% more expensive than the US version???

Hi Guys,

I just downloaded and installed MF4 Disc Creator.
So far, it has a nice interface with many options.
Hope it works!

You have to try it to see all the new features.
There are to many to list.
Lower capturing latency (processor usage)at least on my system.
Much improved ReadMe file for installation/problems etc.
The installation asked if I wanted to delete MF3 and I answered "yes"
but MF3 its still in it's own directory.

Icons to check video files for audio sync problems.
Direct capture to Dobly audio.
Merge clips direct on the timeline and export to Mpeg2 direct.
2 pass Variable bit rate encoding.
Much better interface, more options.
Indexing of Mpeg files for faster editing.

I'm recording a 8-9 gig file right now. Will Multi-trim it and cut into it
in many spots, then export it out to mpeg2 and burn in a good
dvd creation program. I'm skipping the dvd creation right now.
Want to see how good the mpg2 file comes out.

Will post the results.

Hi HT,

There are a few choices on how to export a multi-trimmed mpeg2 file.
The multi-trim module seems to prefer to select the video you want
to keep rather than delete.

Even on the output stage (except for fast-export) you can create
a new template from the output stage and use that new template
for the properties of the new mpg2 file.
Many more options in the export process.
I joined 2 dolby clips and MF4 won't play the audio back. The audio is
there and plays in the software dvd player. Don't know if that's something in my soundcard.
Chposing the dvd size is right on the timeline main interface (nice).

It's very apparent they have concentrated on correcting audio sync
because they give you the choice of indexing the file for editing.

Of course all programs have some bugs. I think whether they are serious
is the important thing.

The overall interface in my opinion is far better than MF3.
On the opening splash screen there are many choices of what type of
DVD to create/edit etc.
Seems like the complete Burn. Now program comes with it.
There is also a "Fit To Disc" menu accessible from the opening menu.
Hasn't crashed yet and right now rendering out to about a 5 gig file
that was muti-trimmed. Original file size was 9gig recorded in ATI
at 6mbs var, 256mpg audio, closed gop's p=4, b=2.
That's a real test because I can cause the audio bug to show up.
If there's something wrong I will not post right away. I wouldn't want to
speak out of place because I haven't even touched on all the settings yet.

I'll contact tech support before saying anything.

I also downloaded a 300+ other file of add-ons or something that must
be on the retail disk. I'll look at that tomorrow after I perform a complete
backup of the system.

Thanks for the update

Do you know yet how it cuts and edits; ie commercials and so forth out, then pastes everything back together?
I am using Version II SE and was just getting ready to shell out $50.00 for Video Redo, but if Ulead has corrected the problems on cutting and editing, I just might get 4.0 instead.
Thanks again

Yes, nothing is perfect.

Hi rdsatkaycee,

Personnaly if you plan to edit/cut/join/split/repair mpg2 files I would buy a
program written specifically to do so such as VideoRedo.
Truly a valuable tool.

Hi,

I believe you can cancel that order and order MF4 instead.
Either through ulead or element 5.
In the US you have price protection you know. So many days to cancel
or change the order.

I had problems and they were easily resolved.
I would think they would want you to have the latest version.

Don't expect miracles with respect to mpeg editing.
The name of the product is DVD MF, not Mpeg editor.

Unfortunately it was something off of eBay, but it only ran me $26, so no great loss.

As far as mpeg editing, actually, I thought I'd upgrade my VS from 7SE to 9 as well.

Does DVD MF4 Disc Creator transcode mp4 and transport stream file formats?

3.5 is only an bundled free version when you buy the burner package. If you want DVDMF 4.0, you will need to pay for upgrade.

Ulead DVD MovieFactory - Upgrade Policy:

Hope this helps.
