MSP 7 problems after MSP 8 demo

Post by kntemplar »

:?: Video capture no longer works. It returns a message that it could not find the capture driver. Also, Audio Editor will not open correctly and crashes soon thereafter.

I recently installed the MSP 8 demo. Afterward, the programs in the Switch panel of my MSP 7 programs disappeared.

I uninstalled the MSP 8 demo and reinstalled MSP 7 (including update pack 3) several times. However, the problem persists. I have the latest drivers for my ATI Radeon 9200. I have not installed any other updates to any other program lately.

BTW I also noticed that for some reason the installation does not install the total 300+ mb on my hard drive. It's only half that.:(

My setup:
3.2 ghz Pentium 4, 512 mb RAM, ATI Radeon 9200

Thanks.

There was a problem with MSP 8 and MSP 7 both on the same machine at the same time but this was 'fixed' in Service Pack 1. Obviously Service Pack one is for the full version and so you appear to be the victim of using the trial version.

To get MSP 7 back again you may have to do a clean installation.

Still Having Trouble After Clean Install

Post by kntemplar »

I tried all of the steps mentioned above and I was able to get Audio Editor back. However, Video Capture still does not work.

Initially, it says
Loading Capture Driver
, then the windows error box pops up with the info attached below:
AppName: vcapture.exe AppVer: 7.2.0.0 ModName: uvcapmaindlg.dll
ModVer: 1.0.0.1 Offset: 00003b2c
Thank you for the help so far. Any further help would be greatly appreciated. :D

maybe it is your v capture drivers can. you reinstall those? That .dll file above looks like something from the drivers. Maybe do a search on your HD for that very file and see where it is. That might give a clue as to what is failing.
