Videostudio editor closes

Post by g.j.w. »

Hi,

I have a problem with adding mp3 files in vs8.
As soon as I try to add an mp3 file to the music line the program closes. Has anybody an idea what is going wrong.
Adding wav files is working.

Many thanks already from this newbie

Maybe it's not supposed to work with MP3s. ??? (I don't have the user's manual with me.)

Are you using the trial version? The trial version may not support it. MP3 and AC3 both require a license... Ulead has to pay royalties for each distributed copy of a program that supports them.

You might have to convert the files to wave first.

I have VS 8 - registered full copy and can use MP3's with no problem. Hope you find out what the problem is soon!

No, Video Studio definitely uses MP3. I use these almost exclusively for my audio backgrounds. You could be right, though, about this being another aspect of an SE version of the program.

But having said that, I cannot suggest any solution, particularly given the paucity of information provided about the computer set-up and how the MP3 files are produced (including using which program...)

Hello,

Thanks already for the reactions.
I am using the trial version of vs8 and the mp3 are made with nero.
Maybe you are right about the royalties and is it only possible to use mp3 with the full registerd version.
Maybe somebody could confirm this.
But if anybody has a solution, please let me know before I buy the full version.
