GIF shows slowly than it should.

Post by efervescente »

hello.
i made an animated gif, but when i save it as a gif, it shows way slower than it does when i go to "View > Play Animation".

also when i go to the tab "Preview" it's slow! frames delay is 0 but it doesn't seem like it.

even in IE or FF it's slow. only when i add it as icon in MSN Messenger it shows at its correct "speed". but i'm not making an icon.

i've seen tons of gifs that are very fast, you can feel the action!

did anyone understand me? (because nobody understands my questions or anything i post)
does anyone know how to make them Fast?

The speed of a GIF animation depends on the program viewing it and the size of the animation - number of frames and pixel area. The bigger it is, the slower most browsers tend to play it. The speed it's played at by using the play button in GA 5 isn't always what you'll get when played in another program.

Try a frame delay of 8. That seems to be the best one can get from most browsers.

Just how big is your animation? (Number of frames and pixel size)

PS if you can post the image here on this thread, that would quite possibly be helpful...

Removing every second or third frame may help, too, depending on what you have got there. As noted above, seeing it lets us give the best answers. Otherwise we're almost guessing!

You're welcome!

IE seems to not be able to deal with anything lower than 8 for frame delay. Firefox/Mozilla will play faster than IE at settings lower than this...
