How do i remove these resize bars on the text?

When I create text, i get these resize bars around the newly created text.

How do i remove them?

I don't think there is a way to eliminate these, at least I didn't find one yet. They are only there while the text is selected.

yeah but it sucks because I cant see the exact edges of the text when trying to adjust the size using the tool panel.

This is NOT an improvement in the application.
