Want to purchase - where's the best price?

Post by sforbeck »

I've read postings tht say the "box" price is cheaper than the download. When I go to ulead.com the box price is $10 more. Is there some other place I can go to to find a cheaper price?

If you buy Movie Factory online (from eBay, etc.), Do NOT buy an SE version! These are limited-capability versions that come "free" with hardware.

One way to get a bargain, is if you can find an older version (even an SE version) for $5, then you can order the upgrade from Ulead. Just make sure it's a ligitimate factory-sealed unregistered CD.
The upgrade offer is valid for users of the following products:

Ulead DVD MovieFactory 5
Ulead DVD MovieFactory 4 Disc Creator
Ulead DVD MovieFactory 4
Ulead DVD MovieFactory 3.5 Suite
Ulead DVD MovieFactory 3.5 Suite Deluxe
Ulead DVD MovieFactory 3 Disc Creator
Ulead DVD MovieFactory 3 Standard version
Ulead DVD MovieFactory 3 SE
Ulead DVD MovieFactory 3 Suite
Special Offer: Buy any box version of DVD MovieFactory 5 or 5 Plus and you save $15* instantly.

*NOTEs: 1. This offer is valid until Jan. 31, 2007 or while supplies last.
2. All sales are final: no exchanges or returns.
It seems like the Ulead products are getting "hard to find" (except directly from Ulead). I have the impression that Ulead doesn't want to sell "retail" (at, least here in the USA). This might have been a change of strategy that came with the InterVideo buyout.

Since it says "While supplies last", the boxed version may being phased-out altogether! Or, maybe they just want to make a new package with "Corel" on it. :?:

With the Corel buyout, things may change again in the future. :?:

DVDDoug: Thanks for the info. :D

I was actually looking at PictureShow 4 based on some reviews that I read. I'm not sure what I actually need just to make slideshows with photos and video. I'd like to keep it as simple as possible.

Any suggestions?
