UFO vs. UFP Projects

When working on photo touchups, etc., I am starting with a large TIFF file that I am saving as a UFO file so I can use all of PI's features, etc. But I notice that there is also a UFP file save format that is described as for "photo projects".

What is the difference between a UFO and UFP project? Is something missing feature-wise from a UFP file?

A photo project is a template containing placeholders that can easily be replaced with images of your choice. Click on the File/Share/Photo Projects menu to see some sample templates (UFP's).
