VS10 freezes when I view my project

Post by Nick Gunn »

I have VS10 Plus and it freezes sometimes when I try to view my project.
If I view a clip first than the entire project it works most of the time.

Does it freeze totally in the sense that you have to restart the program or even reboot the computer? Or is it just a longish delay?

I ask, because I sometimes (for instance, twice today) have to wait up to a minute or so when the project is a long one with complicated editing done to it. It looks as though the program has frozen, and the impatient might be tempted to terminate the program. I did the first time it happened. But the next time, I went out and made a coffee. And after a minute or so, it began playing the project in Project mode... I suppose this sort of thing acts as a timely reminder that we are in fact asking a piece of software to perform what is after all a highly complex task, and of course we want it to perform immediately!

I wish some others would chime in here. My VideoStudio does the same thing. I even uninstalled and then reinstalled with mixed results. Sometimes mine will freeze and yes I have to Ctl-Alt-Del to get out and sometimes even have to shut off the computer to get out. Mine worked for a week or so perfectly and I haven't added any new programs or such since. Just came in one morning and it started this. I also tried the 'repair' option offered with the 'uninstall' window and nothing. Once in a while it will work. I think it is a ULead based problem as my Movie Factory will do the same just not as often.

It happen to me too, I don't have to restart, but the video stop playing after a few seconds, the sound continue for a moment then everything stop. If I click start again, it start for a moment, then the same thing happen again.
