Trying To Work on Some Fancy Stuff

Post by n3vpc »

Here is a new problem, dealing with slide show I am trying to create.

I have all files and photo’s ready to go BUT

First, I want to create a Title page about who I am and
my contact information.

Second, I want to create a Title Page for each of the folders or chapters I am adding to the project. Working within the manual, it makes it sound as though these “templates” are available. If they are, I cannot find them.

Help Please?

Not quite sure what sort of templates you are looking for - to create titles - in VideoStudio click on the 'Title' tab at the top of the screen - in the preview screen where it says "Double Click Here To Add a Title" - Double Click - type all the text you want (after selecting font type/size/colour etc. of your choice) - choose any animation you want for the text - click in the title track to save it - put a colour block/ still photo / video in the top track behind the text. - set length of text and backgound to whatever you wish

Do that as many times as you like any where during your video .

Hi Brian!

I was successful at creation of the title pages I wanted BUT!!
I now have them running right across the pictures when doing a preview of the project. Down in the Text of the Time line mode I see the reason for this; they are set in the same time frame as the pictures so they would naturally go over
top or viewed at the same time.

I was mad at first but upon viewing for a while but then Irealized that this is a most striking affect and would also be very good for labeling the subjects. However it is not wanted at this time.

Can you possibly tell me how to correct this blunder?

I am assuming here that your advise on correction would also apply to the Music part also; as I have music starting and stopping at inappropriate times within the project. Obviously, moving or shifting within the Time Lime Mode is necessary but how? Can you turn on a light for me?

Any help is most welcome,

Bill

Hi

Titles

It sounds as though you have created a multiple title, That is more than one text box can be created within the title.

After creating the first title, click the timeline, the title is placed in the timeline
Move the curser, the arrow floating on the rule away from the first title, Now double click the screen again. You are now creating a second title, again with more than one text box if you like.

The length/duration of the title can be adjusted, Select the title in the timeline, drag the yellow trim bars, or change the duration in the digital clock.
Animation
With the title selected click the Animation Tab
Click the screen to select a title box.
Tick the Apply Animation box
The ¡¥Type¡¦ try Fade
You now have a choice of presets. Have a play with these.
Now click the two TT¡¦s for a more manual approach.

I think that¡¦s enough for the time being, you will soon get the hang of it.

For further info Press F1 and Index tab¡XTitle Safe Area

Hope this Helps

Hi Trevor

I am trying but I keep laying the titles over the pictures!

I can show you exactly where I am at but I do not know if this forum will support a "Screen Shot"

If you can provide directions on 'How" will send you one. Or direct to you without forum? Your call on this, it is difficult to "SEE" something with only a written word.

Incidentally------your quick user guide is fantastic!!! Been there a number of times and have book marked

Hi

The titles will sit on top of the video tracks.

If you want the titles over a black screen, use a colour clip from the library in the main timeline, place the title below the colour clip.

Still lost, can I send that screen shot to you at yahoo?

There are two different titles one after another, I want the picture to start after the last title page but can't get it over there.

If you do not want the text actually over a picture but against a plain background then just drag a plain colour block from the color library and put it in the top track before/inbetween your pictures so that the text has a plain background. which is why I said

To keep everything lined up as you edit and insert pictures/titles etc. you need to enable "Ripple Editing" (search forum or read Help file/manual)

You can post pictures in these forums - but you need a website to put them on and then you can link to it from here like so :-

Hi Bill

If you cannot post a pic to the forum and are still struggling with the title then send me the pic to the e-mail below. I will have a look.

As Brian said you should be able to insert a colour clip to the beginning of the timeline, then position the title below.
