Hi Jeff

Not very interesting results really.

What I have is 12 Dv-Avi files 55 minutes in total.
I need to convert to 12 mpeg at 4000.

Never considered batch convert and always used the timeline. Inserting each clip in turn to Share Create Video File.

So when I did use batch convert the process was much quicker, or so I thought.

The actual rendering was the same for each method, but what I did save was the time it took to reload a new Avi to the timeline. I know its just a matter of replacing the file, drag and drop from the library.
Unless I am glued to the pc watching the progress bar then I loose further time not knowing the process has finished.

I don¡¦t suppose many users make 12---- 5 minute videos.
If you have a lot to do then that¡¦s what Batch Convert is for. The name does give it away though.

I would have liked to have the option to choose a template rather than inputting the properties by hand. By using a template means I always use the same settings and not rely on me to remember them.

I will use it again

Regards

Trevor

Ps render was in real time.

I have, all too often, seen incorrect property defaults in Video Studio. I have no idea where these wacko property values come from. - possibly because I work with a lot of different video file formats. I don't have the time or interest to debug the "system" of defaults but my workaround is to never trust VS default values - instead, I set every property manually, every time, in every stage of the editing workflow. This works every time.

Hi

I work with projects along side my step-daughter, in the early days she did not comprehend the properties of a video file. ( in fact neither did I, its one of the hardest things to learn ) I think she may have grasped the concept by now, hope she isn¡¦t reading this.

Any how by creating a template using movie manager we couldn¡¦t go wrong.
I just told her to go Share Create Video File-My Template.

It would be nice if Batch Convert had that option.

I haven¡¦t had a problem with VS displaying or using the wrong template.
