No DVD option

Post by ragno »

Hallo,
I'm writing from Rome and, first of all, sorry for my terrible English.
Since few days I'm trying to use VideoStudio 8 to capture, edit and record my video (from a digital camera) on a DVD.
The problem is that, when I'm in the "SHARE" tab, the only option available for the output format is "VSC" (no trace for DVD options).
Does anybody can suggest me something?
Please, use very simple english.
Best Regards

What is the EXACT name of your product (including any trailing letters -- like VideoStudio 8 SE or LE, etc...)

You might have a certain version that does not have all the features of the Full version (these "lite" versions often come bundled with other hardware, or as giveaways in video magazines, etc...).

Regards,
George

Exactely,
I got that softaware together the "firewire cardbus" (ST-LAB) I bought for my Laptop.
Unfortunately, I cannot answer to your question since I'm out for job.
I'll give you the information later.
Anyway, thank you for your answer.

I have forgotten,
in having to buy a new software, do you suggest me "Video Studio 10" or, as many people advice me, a Pinnacle one?
Perhaps this is not the bets "place" where to submit this question, but....I do not know so mutch expert people.
Thank you

I really think VideoStudio 10Plus is a great application based on all the features it offers. I have not tried the recent Pinnacle applications, so I cannot comment about them from first hand experience -- so I would recommend you download the TRIAL versions of any package you are interested in to see what works "best" for you and your computer system...

What is Video Studio 8 SE Missing vs. Regular Version?

Post by frank1492 »

While the subject has been raised, I just wondered. I do have the SE Version and find it pretty comprehensive.
Thanks.

The SE version is why you do not have the DVD option. It has been removed from it. You would need a full version in order to burn a DVD. For example I have MSP 7.0 VE (Video Edition), which only allows creating MPEG-1 or DV. I considered it a non-expiring trial version. It help persuade me to upgrade to MSP8.

Before people run off chasing hares, there is a variety of SE versions out there, so more crippled than others. Usually just the SE label on versions after at least VS7 or 8, meant it had the ability to burn a DVD. But if it says 'SE Basic' it usually won't be able to burn a DVD, just a VCD or SVCD.

Not to waste space here, but just to clarify, my VS 8 SE *will* burn DVD's.
