frame based setting

Hi, Ive sucessfully created a iso disc image (but not burnt to dvd yet) ...

However after creating the image i noticed i had it set on save video as "frame based" rather than lower field first (i captured from minidv).

Please could anyone enlighten me on what this means technically-wise and also if it will affect quality (i.e should i re-render before i go any further) ... Thanks, im just trying to understand the process more.
