Failure to record an audio CD

Post by Jocularjock »

:( Using an ASUS motherboard and ASUS DRW 1608P3S recorder, 2gb ram. I wanted to record an ordinary audio CD from an LP. I used Magix audio lab to record and edit the 12 tracks on the LP in both .wav and .mp3 formats. I then went into DVD movie factory 5, selected audio CD, chose the tracks and started to burn. It started by apparently recording the CD text, but when the programme moved on to "recording disc", the programme hung. I left it for more that 8 minutes before using task manager to end the programme. I also tried Nero, and at least in there it gave me the error message "DMA-driver error, CRC error", then "internal taget failure"

Since Nero also has the error, it means there's something wrong with your system. Maybe the IDE driver for the mainboard is not installed properly?

This is a brand new motherboard and DVD recorder. The drivers have all been installed from the installation CD. I can access cds and Windows XP shows the disc as a DVD-RAM drive. When I select burner in ULEAD, it shows that the drive can read and write all the standard cds/dvds. The previous post does not help with the DMA or CRC error message. Help, anyone?
