half a mpg?

Post by mikeough »

I'm using Video Studio 9. I have a non-crypted DVD set of the old series One Step Beyond. Many of the episodes contain commercials and so on and I wanted to clean them up and then convert to divx files. I rip a PGC and it plays fine with VLC etc., but when I open it with Ulead to edit, only the first half of the episode is there. ? So it seems to me the problem is with Ulead. Anyone ever run into this before? Any suggestions?

What format did you rip a DVD's Program Chain (PGC) to, and did it contain Dolby Digital audio?

Are you renaming anything to .mpg, or are you ripping to .mpg (or some other format) :?:

MD -- thanks. After posting my ignorance   I did what I should have done in the first place -- a Google search. Not that I am much the wiser about what a Program Chain is when it's at home even after having read about 4 entries on it!

And I toyed with the idea of downloading not VLC itself, but a portable version of it. But in the end, didn't...
