hi
i want to make a gif, say of someone's head spinning. I make the person's head an object, copy-paste onto the torso, and duplicate frame. then I rotate the object in frame 2. the object rotates in frame 1
how do i prevent this
how to keep an object in an earlier frame from changing

One must remember that any changes you make to an object with any of the tools in the Tool Panel (except the Pick Tool) change the object.
What you must do is this: Duplicate the frame. Select the object, and click the "eye" to hide it. Then click the "Duplicate Object" button.
The new duplicate will now be visible in the new frame. Modify this one.
Always keep your original unmodified, and just duplicate that one for the additional frames.
