I would like to generate a DVD with all my photographs that can be played on the average DVD player which in turn will permit viewing by my family and friends. Is there any level of software that is available to perform this task. I would appericate any direction you can give me. Windows Movie Maker in XP Media Center 2005 seems to be limited by the volume of photographs.

Thank you

This is called a slideshow DVD. From the Ulead line-up, Movie Factory is probably your best choice. Download the free trial and the user manual and give it a try! (Workshop and Video Studio can make slideshow DVDs too.)

I've never done it, and I don't know what the limitations are. It might be limited by the time-duration as well as the number of images.... But, I'm just guessing. It seems like you should be able to put a 2 hour slideshow on a DVD if you can put a 2 hour movie on a DVD. :?

One thing to be aware of is that some DVD players can't play "burned" DVDs at all, and others can play DVD-R, but not DVD+R, etc. So, when you give someone a homemade DVD, you can never be 100% sure that they can play it. :( (If you use DVD-R blanks, most people won't have any problems.)

There are 5 Ulead products capable of producing sideshows.
In order of simplest to most complex they are

DVD Workshop 2
CD & DVD Picture Show 4.
DVD MovieFactory
VideoStudio
MediaStudio.

The harder the program is to use the more elaborate are the results.
Here is something I created with MediaStudio but be warned it took quite a long time. A sideshow in CD&DVDPS4 would have taken a lot less time but the results would not be as dramatic.
