I just installed this program last night and I'm trying to open it now. I get this meggage: PhotoImpact has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Once we know what system/OS you are using, maybe we can get to the bottom of this. Could be a faulty install, hardware/software incompatibility etc.
