Do you have a valid DVD Folder (with IFO, VOB, and BUP files in it), or do you simply have a file with "IFO" extension :?:

If you have a recent version of VideoStudio, you can use the Import from DVD function to extract the mpeg (assuming you have a valid DVD Folder and not just the IFO file). You can also try renaming the corresponding VOB to MPG extension (but that does not always work).

the TOOLS section at videohelp.com is also a great place to find utilities to do what you want...

I really am a not all that good with this stuff I m sill learning, what did you mean about me having a video file, you asked me if i had a recent version of ulead I have Vdstudio 9, I have tried to import the video but it just freezes up my system.

Hi Rob

I did a search on Google and found this info

http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=1635

A dvd consists of a Video-TS folder.
The folder contains Vob files which are the main video files.

The ifo file is just a small information file.

If you browse the dvd disc content you should see two folders Video and Audio. The Audio folder should be empty.

The Video-TS folder contains the files you require. VOB files.

What do you have on the disc.

Hi
Copy the Vob files to your hard drive, try one for starters

Remane the files as suggested by GoergeW
Then insert to VS 9

Try VOB 2 MPG (FREE!!!). I've only used it once, but it did work for that one DVD, and it was fast.
