Hey everyone Happy New Year.
Is there a way in VS10plus to take some 4:3 elements I have and incorporate them into a 16:9 project by cropping them and not distorting them or having black areas - "letterboxes" - on the sides of the image.
If not, is there some clever workaround, some other program, shareware or freeware that can do the job?
Can it be done in MediaStudio Pro? I'm almost ready to to take that step up anyway so I can have more than one video track for more controlled dissolves and multiple superimposed images. Is that the way to go do you think?
Thanks in advance for any tips.

In VS10+ can a 4:3 video clip be cropped to 16:9?

VS10+ does have multiple video tracks and you can have multiple superimposed images.jamworld wrote:Can it be done in MediaStudio Pro? I'm almost ready to to take that step up anyway so I can have more than one video track for more controlled dissolves and multiple superimposed images.

Hi Jeff
Yes you can change 4:3 to 16:9 using Video Studio
The top and bottom of the 4:3 will be cropped.
The project properties should be 16:9
Use the distort function in the main video track.
Attributes tab¡Xtick distort
Or use the overlay track.
In both cases right click the preview screen select
Fit to screen
Right click the preview screen select
Keep aspect ratio.

Hope this Helps
