How To Phase A Photo From A Solid Color Into Photo Itself

Post by ecahola »

Hi,

I have a photo and I'm adding it to my web page header/banner.

I'd like it to phase in to my header color (black).

I can't figure out how to do this in PhotoImpact or if I can.

I'd like to have either the left or right side of the photo start out as a solid color and then slowly have that phase out to the photo itself within a determined area (so as to not eat up all the photo with this effect).

Is this possible and if so ---- I sure could get help on how to do this.

thanks

If you are using PI 10, try using the gradient filter in 'Photo-Enhance'. Select 'Custom' and set colors to grade from black to white. Rotate to 90 degrees and set set sliders for the amount of effect.
Is this what you are trying for?

Not really -- But maybe.

In other words I need it to go from a solid color into the photo color (transparant).

For example, my header color is blue. I want one edge of my photo to start gradianting from that blue color into the photo itself -- just sort of disappearing.
