Error code: 0x800408ff(2303) in video studio

Post by vet9430 »

I have a problem using video studio (error code: 0x800408ff(2303))

I can not import from DVD-RW and I have used samsung DVD camcoder (model: VM-DC560)

Disk finalize is OK and the movie file is played well in camcoder.

I saw the tech support from Ulead homepage for this error code

They said that put "LXDVDParser.dll" file into "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems\DVD" but this information is available only in movie factory.

Do you have any idea for this problem?

Thanks

Which version of Video Studio are you using? Does it have SE or SE Basic in the title?

How exactly are you trying to import the contents of the RW disc?

Have you looked in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems\DVD -- does it contain that LXDVDParser.dll file? (I have just checked, and it there in mine.)

Dear Mr. Ken Berry

Yes! I paste newly downloaded "LXDVDParser.dll" file in "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems\DVD" folder.

But problem is not fixed.

The full name of software I have used is "Ulead Video Studio 9 SE DVD".

This software is bundle version

The method I get movie file from DVD-RW is

1) click "capture"
2) click "capture form DVD/DVD-VR"

Because the software I have is a Korean version, I don't know the exact command name in the tool bar.

Although my software is a bundle version, can I update via internet?

Thanks for your kind consideration.

Yes, you can certainly upgrade from an SE version, and do it over the internet. I don't know, though, if you can get a Korean version that way.

But before that, you might want to try an alternative method. Similar use Windows to copy the whole DVD to your computer's hard disc. Then try using 'Insert DVD/DVD-VR' on those copied files.

Ultimately, you should simply be able to change any .VOB file extension in that folder to .mpg. That usually works, though it is not as neat as the other way, as you will get a lot of video in addition to what you want.

Hi, I think I may have a solution. I have been experiencing this problem all weekend. Here goes.

The Media Disc Used is:
JVC DVD-RW 60 min 2.8GB.

I am using Ulead Video Studio 10.

The above disc is a dual sided disc, side A works fine, all chapters 100% ok, and data extracted fine.
Side B, refuses to open on the PC at all. It gives me the exact same error message as you have posted. Note, the Disc plays fine on the camera.

Heres what I did to fix or (try to fix) the issue:
1. Used DVD decrypter to extract the files from DVD-RW to the PC
2. Used FixVTS to try to repair the VOB Files, seemed to do something, but nothing changed to be honest.
3. Tried once files were on the PC to open them with my usual program, Ulead Video Studio V10. The files appear in the list and say that they are 14 minutes in length. When you try to watch it, after 20 seconds, it corrupts, freezes and the clip goes black. But get this, if you use the slider bar, you can see the whole clip is actually there, but for some reason, the PC is only recognising that 20 seconds only, and it will refuse to play the rest of the clip. So essentially the file is still useless.
4. Next I tried to connect the camera via USB and tried to use the factory software which essentially treats the camera like a USB drive and access's the disc. Unfortunately, it came up with the same error code as it tried to access the disc. So this avenue was no good.
5. Finally at the end of my teather, I decided to use DVD decrypter again and extract the DVD-RW to a ISO image file. This was successfull.
6. Next I used, DVD Shrink to open the image and burnt it to a DVD-R. This burn was successfull.

Hence, I now tried to play the newly created DVD on my PC and it works fine. It is also fine on the TV as well.

Essentially all I've done is made a copy of the original DVD-RW disc (Side B).

Next, with my newley created disc (or copy of it really) I did the following:
1. Inserted new DVD-R into PC (ie a 4.7 GB disc made per steps above).
2. Opened Ulead Studio, went to Import Disc.
3. Disc extracted all chapters to PC.
4. Checked all files were there and playable. They were 100% fine.

RESULT: MY DATA IS SAVED!!!!! YAY!!!!!

I guess I've totally back doored this problem and essentially found a way around the problem.

I hope it can serve any one else who may have it.
But lets also remember, I am going to go and buy some better discs, just to see if the issue occurs again on another format too.

Essentially what I beleive is the problem is that Ulead Video Studio doesn't seem to recognise Dual sided RW media. Hence effectively once I created a new DVD of the side that was giving me errors it worked completely.

Please give this a try. Let me know how it goes.

Many thanks,
