Software Update Issue

Post by tomcadwal »

Hi,
A newbie here with an issue. I have MF 4.0 Suite, it came with my ASUS burner. I have not been able to burn a DVD as yet with this software. I have had some success with Nero, but would prefer to use Ulead.
I updated the firmware for the burner and tried to update the Ulead software, but when I try to install the download I get a message to the effect that it can't find the program installed.
Alos the help info says the it should import VOB but I haven't been able to do that either.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks :D

Probably a conflict with Nero. Is IN-CD running? If you can't get Nero turned-off, you
use the two together, using Moviie Factory to author the DVD and Nero for tha actual burning.

- When you get to the "burn" step, check the box that says Create DVD folders and un-check Create Disc. If that works, you'll get the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders on your hard drive, instead of on a DVD. And if that works, you have a problem during the actual burning step.

Since you have one of the "free" SE versions, you may not be able to update unless you pay for an upgrade to the retail version. Do not assume that upgrading to MF5 will solve any of your problems. Download the trial first!!! The new version has lots of new cool features, and the retail version will have Dolby audio, but some of the old problems/bugs seem to remain. :(
Also the help info says the it should import VOB but I haven't been able to do that either.
Lots of users are having the same problem. DVDs from some cameras or burners seem to give Ulead trouble. Where did the DVD come from? There are a few "tricks",... Make sure the DVD is "closed" or "finalized". (Of course, it's not going to import a commercial copy-protected DVD.) You might try a FREE program called VOB 2 MPG. I've only tried it on one DVD. It worked on that DVD, and it was fast!.
