unable to hear sound from TV program recorded on DVD

Post by begasaka »

Hi,
I recorded a TV program in the NATSC format onto a DVD;

The files in the folder that I copied off of the DVD-R to my computer are in VOB, BUP, and IFO format.

I am able to play it with RealPlayer- able to see video and hear audio.
However, when I play it in WMP, I can only see the video.

Similarly, when I try to edit it using VideoStudio, I only see a video track, and cannot see or hear an audio track.

The files in the folder that I copied off of the DVD-R to my computer are in VOB, BUP, and IFO format.

Is there a way to read and edit these files in VideoStudio or, another program?

Thank you very much for your help.

Please click here --> Image so that we can then view your system specifications.

Also please click the following link:

Which version of VideoStudio do you have? Prior to version 9 Dolby wasn't supported without a plug in which I doubt is any longer available. Chances are your DVD has Dolby sound.

And if you have an SE version of VS9 or 10, then Dolby is not included for licensing reasons imosed by Dolby.
