VS10+ Movie Wizard won't load its own projects

Post by WestbrookNH »

Edited a project using VS10+, but now I'd like to use the Movie Wizard to create a nice menu environment for the DVD.

I can load the VS10+ VSP file into Movie Wizard just fine.

But if I save what I've done in Movie Wizard, and try to reload it again later, Movie Wizard says that it's not a valid VideoStudio format.

Any clues?

Have you tried loading the .vsp file into the Video Editor - that has options for a "nice menu environment " - in fact better than the Wizard surely ??

VS10+ Editor can load the project modified by VS10+ Movie Wizard just fine.

But, even if I save it from VS10+ Editor, when I try to load it again from Movie Wizard, it complains about a file format mismatch.

Sorry but I can't understand why you want to put it back into the wizard

How are you "saving" the original, and what are you trying to insert back into Movie Wizard :?:

The Editor's Disk Creator seems to have a subset of the templates that the Movie Wizard Has. There just don't seem to be as many options.

Well, I'd like to be able to put the Movie Wizard project away and come back to it later.

There are two options in saving a Movie Wizard project: as VS10 project or as a VS9 project.

I save it as a VS10 project, but when I try to reopen it from the Wizard, it give me a "File Format Mismatch" error message.

But I can open the project saved in Movie Wizard from the VS10 Editor just fine.

Here's what I'm doing.

Creating some clips in VS10+ Editor, and saving them as project files.

Then I load them into the Wizard and make some progress there creating menus, etc.

When I reach a stopping point in the Wizard, I'd like to be able to quit and reopen the project from the Wizard later.

It's peculiar that the VS10+ Editor can open the Wizard's project files just fine, and the Wizard can open VS10+ Editor projects just fine.

But the Wizard can't open it's own project files.

How's that supposed to happen?

If you saved it during the "Create Disc" step (coming from the MovieWizard), then to re-load at a later time, start up the VideoEditor and go to the Create Disc module, and load the VSP project. At this point the "MovieWizard" part of the process is "done" (regarding adding a start/end and some other MovieWizard modifications).

George
