I am using MSP8, which I enjoy a great deal. My computer has a Realtek AC97 sound card. I would like to create some videos with 5.1 surround sound. Will MSP8 write a DVD with the capability to play in 5.1 sound even though I do not have an AC3 card in my computer? My intention is to play these videos on my DVD player using the surround sound system in my living room.
If I need to buy a different card for the computer in order to create 5.1 what card would you recommend?

Surround sound
I would have thought you would need a 5.1 sound card when editing so that you can check on what you are doing. I bought a cheapo Genius 5.1 card and speakers for a few tens of bucks and it works just fine for editing - not exactly hi-fi but certainly very adequate.
